Model Packs increase the number of Amp or FX Models of a GuitarPort, TonePort, PODxt, PODxt Live or PODxt Pro, for a wider variety of tone possibilities. When a particular tone in the library relies on a Model available in one of these packs, you'll see symbol(s) to indicate which Packs: MS (Metal Shop), CC (Classics Collection), FX (FX Junkie), and PP (Power Pack).

The models within the FX Junkie Model Pack are already included in PODxt Live, and offered for purchase to add-on to GuitarPort, TonePort, PODxt and PODxt Pro.

Variax is the uniquely flexibile guitar from Line 6. Our Vetta II amplifier includes a digital connection for the Variax that lets you store settings for both your amp and your guitar in the Vetta II so that when you call up a Vetta Channel Memory your amp and guitar can change sounds together. Vetta II Tones marked with this guitar symbol include this Variax data.

For each tone in the library, you'll see an icon for either a single coil or humbucker pickup. This tells you whether the tone is best for use with a single coil pickup or a humbucker, so you can select the appropriate pickup on your guitar when using this tone.

Attention POD 2.0, Flextone and HD147 owners... Your hardware doesn't do Stomp effects, so you'll hear something different than what was intended. Try increasing the Drive or choose a higher gain Amp Model to get the right sound. The other aspects of the sound should translate as expected, so you'll at least get a great starting place for tweaking.

A few notes to start: 1) I run my Helix with 4 stomps on top and 4 Snaps below, and in 10 switch mode. You'll need to run like this to tale advantage of this patch 2) It is IMPOSSIBLE to do an all-in-one U2 patch. edge would likely need 2 Helices 3) That doesn't mean I can't try. 4) I don't know how to change Suggested Pickup to single, but.... SOOOOO - this patch is based around 4 main U2 settings based on 4 songs: Beautiful Day, Pride, Where the Streets Have No Name and Vertigo, and they're in Snaps 1-4 in that order. Moving through 1, 2 and 3, you'll notice more and more delay on each. So if you want to do an earlier U2 song like Sunday Bloody Sunday, start with Beautiful, as that has less delay than Pride and Streets. If you want to try Elevation, start with Vertigo as that more drive on tap. The 4 stomps on top give you options for Drive (like the Chorus for Beautiful Day), a Boost+Delay (good for a lot of Edge's solos), Ambient Verb (which brings in a Particle Verb) and More Reverb, which just adds a longer decay and higher level to the Chamber reverb which is the core for all of the patches. Hitting the Mode button and going into 10 switch mode is where this becomes flexible. You have 2 more drives, one is the Rat (which provides the Fuzz for Vertigo as well) and one labeled End of the World (figure it out). You can raise the pitch an Octave, add in a Simple Delay (which will give you an approximation of edge's multiple delays bouncing off each other), a Tremolo and something called One Rotary (figure that out too). It doesn't cover everything - it can't. But unless you're in a U2 tribute band, I'll guess that you can use this for most of your Edgier needs.
